MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team returns home this weekend for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games, starting on Saturday against Minnesota Crookston (noon start) and concluding on Sunday against Bemidji State (1 p.m. start).
Saturday's game with Minnesota Crookston will mark the first in the Highway 75 Rivalry Rock Series. The winner will receive the traveling trophy and hold it until the two teams meet again in 2014. Also, Saturday's game is MSUM's Cancer Awareness game.
MSUM is 0-9 overall and 0-7 in the NSIC but is coming off of its best offensive performance of the season in a 4-3 loss to Upper Iowa on Sunday. A day earlier, the Dragons, who are still shorthanded because of injuries, lost to Winona State 3-0.

Erin Nyberg, who had two goals in the loss to Upper Iowa, leads MSUM with two goals and four points on the season. Junior

Jessica Johnson each have a goal, an assist and three total points. Johnson leads the Dragons with 24 shots and 13 shots on-goal.
In net, sophomore
Ashley Leintz leads the way with 40 saves and a 1.14 goals allowed average. Sophomore
Carole Braschayko has 29 saves.
Rollie Bulock is in his 15th year as MSUM's head coach with a record of 91-161-14.
About Minnesota Crookston
The Golden Eagles are 2-7-1 overall and 0-6-1 in the NSIC. They have lost three in a row entering Saturday's game, including a 3-0 home loss to nationally-ranked Southwest Minnesota State on Sunday. Nikki Hammond leads the way for UMC with two goals and four points. Three different Golden Eagle players have an assist. Lexie Gauger has played a majority of the minutes in goal for UMC and has 42 saves and a 1.36 goals allowed average. She is 1-5-1 in net so far. Joe Alianiello is in his second season as Minnesota Crookston's head coach with a record of 4-22-2 at the school.
About Bemidji State
Bemidji State is 7-3 overall and 4-3 in the NSIC. The Beavers split at home last weekend, losing to nationally-ranked Southwest Minnesota State, 4-3 on Saturday before beating Sioux Falls, 2-0 on Sunday. Sarah Stram and Mary O'Brien lead the Bemidji State offense with five goals and 11 points each, while Abigail Nyquist and Jessie Voeller have three assists each. Two players have split the goalkeeping duties for the Beavers, with Sonja Barr leading the way with a 4-1 record and 0.59 goals allowed average. She has 29 saves. Jim Stone is in his 12th season as Bemidji State's head coach with a record of 113-91-22 at the school.
