MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Minot State in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Sunday in Moorhead, Minn. The loss concluded the 2013 season for the Dragons.
Minot State, which clinched the final spot in the NSIC tournament with the win, scored a goal in each half to secure the win.
Junior
Erin Nyberg led the Dragons with five shots, including two on goal. Freshman
Jessica Johnson added three shots, including two on goals. Junior
Greta Pierce and freshmen
Micah Palmer and
Ashley Germann each had shots on goal for the Dragons.
MSUM's two seniors,
Carole Braschayko and
Victoria Hoffman, were recognized before the game and the two split goalkeeping duties in the game. Braschayko played the first half and had one save, while Hoffman played the second half and had eight saves in the final collegiate game for both players.
Minot State had a 16-13 edge in shots in the game, including 12-4 in the second half. The Dragons had a 9-4 edge in shots in the first half.
