MANKATO, Minn. -- Minnesota State University Moorhead Senior Laquone Robinson finished fourth in the men's heptathlon Monday as the opening weekend of the NSIC Indoor Championships was completed in Mankato, Minn. The heptathlon and women's pentathlon were the only events held this weekend; the majority of the NSIC Indoor is set for Feb. 22-23 in Mankato.

Robinson finished with 5,036 points in the heptathlon. During Monday's portion, he won the 60-meter hurdles (8.09) and finished with an effort of 11-7 3/4 in the pole vault. He also ran a time of 2:58.63 in the 1,000 meters, which was seventh-best.

The Dragon senior was just 42 points from third place.

Senior Ryan Barnes was 13th overall with a score of 4,158 for MSUM.

The MSUM track and field teams will compete at two meets at the University of Minnesota, with the men competing at the Snowshoe Classic on Friday and the women competing at the Parents Day Classic on Saturday.
