VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Minnesota State Moorhead track & field secured two All-America performers at the NCAA Indoor Championships on Saturday.
Jared Gregoire (mile) earned First Team honors while
Jaiden Peraza (high jump) secured a Second Team nod.
Peraza would finish in a tie for ninth place in men's high jump to earn his first indoor All-America certificate. The Kindred, N.D., native began his day by clearing the first height of 6-07 (2.01m) on his first attempt. Peraza only needed one attempt to clear the second height of 6-09 (2.06m). The senior would miss three attempts at 6-11 (2.11m), but was still able to secure Second Team All-America honors.
Gregoire turned another strong mile run on Saturday, placing fifth overall with a time of 4:12.83. As is customary with Gregoire's races, the redshirt junior used all his reserves in the final stretch of the race. Gregoire closed the last 400 meters with an impressive 54.07 split, including 27.25 clip in the final 200 meters. The finish earned Gregoire First Team All-America honors and the second indoor All-America nod of his career. The Buffalo, Minn., native is the first indoor mile All-American for MSUM since Josh Young in 2017.
