DULUTH, Minn. – Minnesota State Moorhead track & field concluded action at the NSIC Outdoor Championships on Saturday evening. The Dragons were led by All-NSIC performances from
Katelyn Kennedy (1500m),
Hailey Neumann (javelin),
Colin O'Farrell (1500m),
Jadon Boots (800m) and
Jared Gregoire (800m and 1500m). Gregoire was the conference's champion in the 1500m run.
MSUM's women placed seventh in the team standings with 43 points. Moorhead's men's team finished sixth with 59 points.
Sprints/Hurdles/Relays
Nasir Dilworth would place fifth in the men's 110m hurdle finals. Dilworth would clock a 14.02 (wind aid +6.9 m/s) for the finish.
Moorhead's 4x100m relay team of
Audrey Janich,
Cipriana Jones,
Brihonne Cargill and
Allysah Larson would place fifth with a time of 47.52
. In the women's 4x400m relay, the Dragon team of
Christalea Wagner,
Liv Birkeland, Cargill and Jones would place fifth with a time of 3:58.48.
To conclude the meet, MSUM's 4x400m relay team of
Frosty Wisnewski,
Colin O'Farrell,
Dylan Harris and
Jadon Boots would place seventh behind a mark of 3:19.12.
Jumps/Vaults
Leya Teicher would conclude her career with a personal best effort in women's pole vault. Teicher cleared 11-08 (3.56m) for the new best and ninth-place marks. The clearance ranks sixth all-time in MSUM history.
Larson would earn a fourth-place finish in women's triple jump. The sophomore's top attempt measured 38-10.5 (11.85).
Ahniesha Presulme would place fifth with a mark of 38-02 (11.63m).
McKenna Schreiber (11.09m) would place 14
th.
Aidan Fitts would lead Moorhead's efforts in men's triple jump, leaping 44-09.5 (13.65m) for a ninth-place finish.
Throws
True freshman
Hailey Neumann would continue to look sharp in women's javelin, collecting an all-conference nod. Neumann finished runner-up in the event with a top mark of 135-06 (41.30m), just off her personal best of 136-0.
Justin Jacobson would place seventh in men's discus behind a top throw of 150-07 (45.91m). Jacobson would also place eighth in men's javelin throw, hurling a 154-06 (47.09m).
Distance
Jared Gregoire would capture an NSIC championship in the men's 1500m run. Gregoire would run a 3:55.19 for the title. It is Gregoire's second career NSIC championship in the 1500m (2023). O'Farrell would place runner-up to earn All-NSIC distinction, marking a 1:57.76.
Logan Martinez (4:02.55) and
Bridger Larson (4:05.68) placed 10
th and 15
threspectively.
Katelyn Kennedy would turn in a career effort for the Dragons in the women's 1500m en route to an all-conference finish. Kennedy clocked a 4:40.95 to place third overall. The mark is now the sixth-fastest in MSUM history.
Gregoire would secure all-conference honors in the 800m with a runner-up finish. Gregoire crossed the line with a season best mark of 1:53.61. Boots earned All-NSIC honors with a third-place finish, clocking a 1:54.5. O'Farrell (1:54.9) would place fourth for the Dragons.
Chase Hoechst would lead Moorhead's efforts in the men's 5000m run. Hoechst placed sixth overall with a time of 15:01.64.
Seth Meikle (15:23.92),
James Dorado (15:26.05) and
Luke Buentello (15:31.83) placed 14
th, 16
th and 18
threspectively.
MSUM will now await potential selections to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships held May 21-23 in Emporia, Kan.
