ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 nonconference match to the College of St. Benedict Thursday night in St. Cloud, Minn.
MSUM fell to 0-2 on the season with the loss, while CSB improved to 2-0.
The Dragons did not win a set on the day but came close at both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, freshmen

Cassie Smith fell by an 8-6 score to Victoria Beach and Ellie Black, while at No. 3 doubles, junior
Jaime LaCoursiere and sophomore
Jenna Galstad lost to Beth Richmond and Rachel Raden, 8-6.
At No. 2 singles, Galstad battled tough against CSB's Daley Rupar but came up short, losing 7-6 (12-10 tiebreaker) and 6-3.
Morgan Smith had a competitive match at No. 4 singles before falling to Richmond, 6-4, 6-2.
MSUM will face NSIC foes St. Cloud State and Minnesota-Duluth in Virginia, Minn., on Saturday.
