MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead men's basketball team begins a four-game homestand this weekend with a pair of key conference games. The Dragons start the week with a game against Upper Iowa on Friday (8 p.m. tipoff) and conclude with a game against league-leading Winona State on Saturday (6 p.m. tipoff).
Both games are at Nemzek Fieldhouse in Moorhead, Minn.
The Dragons went 3-1 on the road the past two weekends. The Dragons are 14-4 overall and 10-4 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and are alone in second place in the NSIC North Division, just one game behind Bemidji State and one game ahead of Northern State and St. Cloud State.
MSUM and Upper Iowa will meet for a 16th time with the Dragons holding a slim 8-7 series lead. The Dragons and Winona State will meet for a 152nd time with the Warriors leading the series 80-71.

Jordan Riewer scored 21 points in MSUM's 95-88 overtime win over St. Cloud State.

Urbane Bingham leads MSUM at 11.9 points per game, while Riewer is at 11.4 points per game and senior
Tarell Clark is at 11.2. Clark leads with 7.1 rebounds per game and with 51 total steals. Riewer leads with 66 assists.
MSUM scores 85.3 points per game -- tied for best in the NSIC -- and is shooting 47.7 percent from the field, including 39.2 percent from three-point range. The Dragons outrebound their foes 39.5-31.6 and are allowing 70.8 points per contest.
Chad Walthall is in his fourth season as MSUM's head coach with a record of 69-37 at the school.
About Upper Iowa
Upper Iowa is 8-12 overall and 6-8 in the NSIC. The Peacocks dropped a pair of home games last weekend, falling to Concordia-St. Paul, 81-69 and Minnesota State, 95-78.
The Peacocks are led in scoring by Joey Woods at 16.1 points per game while Josh Weeber averages 12.6 and Grant Lang is at 12.3. Jordan Hay leads at 3.8 rebounds per game while Woods leads with 4.8 assists per contest. Woods has 31 steals as well.
Upper Iowa averages 81.9 points per game and shoots 43.3 percent from the field. The Peacocks are being outrebounded 39.0-34.9. Teams are scoring 84.1 points per game against Upper Iowa and are shooting 48 percent against the Peacocks.
Brooks McKowen is in his first season as Upper Iowa's head coach with a record of 8-12 at the school.
About Winona State
Winona State, which faces Northern State prior to facing MSUM, is 17-4 overall and 12-2 in the NSIC. The Warriors are coming off home wins over Minnesota State (73-57) and Concordia-St. Paul (80-61) last weekend.
Senior Taylor Cameron leads Winona State at 13.1 points per game while sophomore Riley Bambenek averages 12.3 points per game. Senior Kellen Taylor averages 10.5 points per game and also leads at 8.2 rebounds. Cameron leads at 3.8 assists per game.
Winona State averages 78.6 points per game and is shooting 48.7 percent from the field. The Warriors shoot 39.4 percent from three-point range. Winona State outrebounds its foes, 38.5-33.0. Teams are scoring 65.8 points per game against Winona State and are shooting only 37.8 percent against the Warriors this season.
Mike Leaf is in his 16th season as Winona State's head coach and has a record of 359-135 at the school.
Riewer Leads at the Line
Junior
Jordan Riewer leads all of Division II in free-throw percentage at 94.3 percent, a mark that is also leading the NSIC. Riewer was a perfect 12-of-12 at the line during the Dragons' two road wins last week.
Right at Home
MSUM has won 12 games at home, dating back to the end of the 2012-13 season. The Dragons are an impressive 43-10 at home during Head Coach
Chad Walthall's tenure, including a perfect 14-0 against nonconference foes. The Dragons are 33-10 against NSIC foes at Nemzek Fieldhouse. MSUM's last home loss was on Feb. 9, 2013 against Wayne State. Six of the Dragons' final eight regular-season games are at home.

Tarell Clark is having a solid all-round season for MSUM. He is third on the team in scoring (11.2) but leads the team in rebounding (7.4 per game) and steals (25). Clark is shooting 54.8 percent from the field, best of any player in the Dragon rotation, and also has an impressive 57 offensive rebounds. Clark scored a career-high 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting in MSUM's 87-63 win over Minnesota Crookston on Jan. 18.
