MOORHEAD, Minn. – After playing three straight games on the road, the Minnesota State University Moorhead men's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse this week to face Concordia-St. Paul and No. 8-ranked Minnesota State. Friday's game against Concordia begins at 8 p.m. with the game against MSU beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday.
The Dragons are 9-3 overall and 5-3 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and are a perfect 7-0 at Nemzek Fieldhouse.
MSUM will meet Concordia for a 26 th time and hold a 15-10 lead in the series, including recording a 79-64 win a year ago in St. Paul, Minn. The Dragons will meet Minnesota State for a 91 st time with the Mavericks holding a 61-29 series lead. Minnesota State won both meetings a year ago in Mankato, Minn.

MSUM dropped a pair of games on the road last weekend. The Dragons lost to Sioux Falls, 92-70, on Friday with junior
Prescott Williams leading the way with 12 points. A night later, MSUM rallied from a 20-point deficit to take the lead late but lost at the buzzer at Southwest Minnesota State, 70-68. Juniors
Jordan Riewer and
Urbane Bingham led the way with 17 points apiece.
Bingham leads MSUM at 11.8 points per game, while Riewer is at 11.4 points per game and sophomore
Tyler Vaughan is at 9.1 points per game. Senior
Tarell Clark leads at 6.9 rebounds per game while also leading with 16 steals. Riewer leads with 42 assists.
MSUM scores an NSIC-best 83.9 points per game and is shooting 47.2 percent from the field, including 41.9 percent from three-point range. The Dragons outrebound their foes 39.3-31.8 and are allowing 67.2 points per contest.
Chad Walthall is in his fourth season as MSUM's head coach with a record of 64-36 at the school.
About Concordia
Concordia-St. Paul is 4-8 overall and 1-7 in the NSIC. The Golden Bears split at home last weekend, beating Minnesota Duluth, 69-60, on Friday, thanks to 24 points from Terez VanPelt. A night later Concordia fell to St. Cloud State, 70-66 despite 16 points from Keith Crockett.
VanPelt leads Concordia-St. Paul at 18.3 points per game, while Travon Mitchell is at 13.1. Cole Olstad, who has only appeared in six games, averages 12.8 per contest. Crockett leads with 37 assists while Mike Yahnke leads at 6.3 rebounds per game.
Concordia averages 71.1 points per game and is shooting 39.4 percent from the field. The Golden Bears are hitting 34.8 percent from three-point range and are outrebounding their opponents 40.2-38.4. Concordia allows 71.5 points per game and teams are shooting 40.8 percent against the Golden Bears.
Kelly Boe is in his eighth season as Concordia's head coach with a record of 104-101 at the school.
About Minnesota State
Minnesota State is 13-2 overall and 7-1 in the NSIC. The Mavericks, who will face Northern State prior to facing MSUM, have won five in a row, including home wins over St. Cloud State (97-77) and Minnesota Duluth (89-54) last weekend. Gage Wooten's 25 points paced MSU in the win over St. Cloud State, while Tanner Adler had 26 in the rout of Minnesota Duluth.
Five Mavericks average in double figures, led by junior Assem Marei at 14.1 points per game. Junior Zach Monaghan averages 13.6 points and an NSIC-best 7.0 assists per game. Wooten (13.5 points per game), Adler (12.0) and Connor O'Brien (11.5) also average in double figures for MSU. Marei leads with 7.5 assists per game while Monaghan has 31 steals.
As a team, Minnesota State scores an NSIC-best 86.9 points per game and is shooting 50.4 percent from the field. The Mavericks outrebound their opponents, 42.3-30.9 and are holding opponents to 65.3 points per game. Teams are shooting only 38 percent against Minnesota State.

Junior
Jordan Riewer is ranked fifth in all of Division II in free-throw percentage at 93.9 percent. He is 31-of-33 (93.9 percent) so far this season.

Senior
Tarell Clark is having a solid all-round season for MSUM. He is third on the team in scoring (9.1) but leads the team in rebounding (6.9 per game) and steals (16). Clark is shooting 53.5 percent from the field, best of any team in the Dragon rotation, and also has an impressive 33 offensive rebounds.
