CROOKSTON, Minn. -- Sophomore
Jessica Johnson scored a career-high two goals to lead the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Minnesota Crookston in the Highway 75 Rivalry Rock game Saturday in Crookston, Minn.
Ashley LeintzMSUM improved to 3-9 overall and 2-8 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference with the win, while the Golden Eagles dropped to 5-5-3 overall and 4-4-2 in the league.
It is the first time in the two-year history of the Highway 75 Rivalry Rock that MSUM will retain the traveling trophy. The winning school holds the trophy until next year's meeting.
Johnson, who entered the game with one goal in her short Dragon career, delivered big for the Dragons as they earned their third win of the season.
Trailing 1-0, MSUM tied the game in the 36th minute when Johnson scored from 40 yards out. Less than five minutes later, Johnson scored a goal off of a free kick to give the Dragons a 2-1 lead.
Neither team scored in the second half as MSUM held on for the win, thanks in large part to the play of junior goalkeeper
Ashley Leintz, who had 13 saves in net.

The Dragons are back in action Sunday at Bemidji State for a 1 p.m. game.
