MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team battled Mary to a scoreless tie for 83 minutes, but the Marauders scored a goal in the 84th minute to earn a 1-0 win over the Dragons in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Friday in Moorhead, Minn.
MSUM, which has suffered seven one-goal losses this year,. fell to 3-13 overall and 2-12 in the NSIC with the loss, while Mary improved to 6-8-3 overall and 5-4-4 in the league.
The game was evenly played, with Mary holding a slight 18-15 edge in shots. The Dragons, playing in their final home game, did have an 11-6 advantage in the second half. Both teams had nine shots on goal.

Ashley Leintz had eight saves in net for the Dragons.

Cara Zastrow had five shots, including two on goal, to pace the Dragons. Senior

The game was tied at 0-0 at halftime. The Dragons had a chance to take the lead early in the second half when Nyberg fired a shot from close range which was saved by Mary goalkeeper Shelby Buttron. Later in the half, Mary's Andrea Muller scored in the 84th minute off of a corner kick to give the Marauders a 1-0 lead.
MSUM wraps up the regular season on Sunday at Minot State. Game time is 1 p,m. in Minot, N.D.
MSUM's two seniors, Nyberg and
Stephanie Lindo, were honored as part of Senior Day. Nyberg has appeared in 65 games in her Dragon career while Lindo has appeared in 48.
