MANKATO, Minn. – No. 2 ranked Minnesota State built a 3-0 lead at halftime and went on to defeat Minnesota State University Moorhead, 4-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Saturday in Mankato, Minn.
MSUM fell to 2-6 overall and 1-5 in the NSIC with the loss, while the Mavericks improved to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in conference play.

Ashley Leintz paced the Dragons with 12 saves.
The Maverick defense held MSUM to just three shots on the game, with junior
Cara Zastrow and freshman Makenzie Carlson and
Annika Greaney each recording shots. Greaney had the lone shot on goal for the Dragons.
Korey Kronforst, the defending NSIC Player of the Year, had a goal and an assist to pace the Mavericks.
MSUM will look for a split on the weekend when it plays Concordia at 1 p.m. on Sunday in St. Paul, Minn. The Golden Bears lost to Northern State, 2-0 on Saturday.
