ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State built a 10-point halftime lead and went on to beat the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team, 79-62 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women's basketball action Friday night in St. Cloud, Minn.
MSUM (3-5, 2-2 NSIC) saw a two-game winning streak end with the loss while the Huskies, who are receiving votes in the latest WBCA Division II poll, improved to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the league.

Meghan Roehrich led MSUM with 15 points. Redshirt freshman forward
Drew Sannes had a solid all-around game, going 6-of-7 with a career-high 13 points and nine rebounds. She also had two blocks. Junior forward
Heather Strese added eight points for MSUM while sophomore guard
Natalie Van Wyhe had a game-high five assists.
The Dragons shot 42 percent (21-of-50), compared to 51.8 percent (29-of-56) for the Huskies. Turnovers proved costly for MSUM as the Dragons committed 21 turnovers which led to 27 SCSU points. The Dragons did outrebound SCSU 34-26.
MSUM fell behind 6-0 and never led in the game. The Dragons trailed 32-18 with 3:53 left in the first half but a quick 7-2 run cut the lead to 34-25 with 1:26 left. Sannes accounted for five of those points, including a three.
Sannes had nine first-half points but MSUM faced a 37-27 deficit. To open the second half, MSUM went on a 14-7 run over the first five minutes to climb within 44-41 with 15:09 left. Roehrich led the run with five points while freshman guard
Mallie Doucette buried a three. However, SCSU went on a 16-4 run over the next six minutes to push the lead to 60-45, and MSUM never got closer than 11 the rest of the way.
Doucette added a career-high six points off the bench for MSUM, which plays at Minnesota Duluth for a 4 p.m. game on Saturday.
