The key to MSUM's early success has been shooting the basketball well from the field and the Dragons did so again Friday, shooting 58.6 percent (34-58) from the field and 51.6 percent (16-31) from beyond the three-point line.MSUM is now 9-0 on the season and 2-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play. Minot State is 5-2 overall and 1-1 in the NSIC.The Dragons outrebounded Minot State 36-24 and forced ten turnovers by the Beavers.Six players scored in double digits for the Dragons and nine players scored at least seven points. Junior guards Tyler Vaughan and Ngijol Songolo paced MSUM with 15 points. Songolo led the team with six rebounds and Vaughan led the team with six assists. Senior guard Jordan Riewer had 12 points and five assists while senior forward Urbane Bingham added seven points, five rebounds, and five assists.Two straight three-pointers from Songolo put the Dragons up 25-10 with 11:09 left in the first half. The Beavers cut to the lead to 12 at 7:09 after a Dominique McDonald jumper, but the Dragons increased the lead back to 31 by the end of the half at 55-24. Vaughan scored all of his 15 points in the first half.Junior guard Evan Holt hit a three-pointer with 7:48 left in the game to give the Dragons their biggest lead of the night at 86-42.
