MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team is back in action this week with a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matches on the docket. MSUM will face Augustana at 6:30 p.m. on Friday night and wrap up the trip with a match against Winona State at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, with both matches taking place at Sioux Empire Fitness in Sioux Falls, S.D.
MSUM is 4-7 overall and 3-3 in the NSIC. The Dragons are alone in sixth place in the NSIC; the top eight teams in the conference qualify for the NSIC tournament, which will be held on April 26-27 in Minnetonka, Minn. Augustana is 15-1 overall and 7-0 in the NSIC while Winona State is 5-7 overall but a perfect 4-0 in the league.

Ashley Wood has the top singles record for MSUM with a 7-4 mark, while freshman
Jessamy Jones is 5-6. In doubles, sophomore
Cassie Smith is 5-5 while Wood and freshman
Rebecca Lukes are each 4-7.
Oliver Summers is in his second season as MSUM's head coach.
About Augustana: Augustana is 15-1 overall and 7-0 in the league. The Vikings have won six matches in a row. They are led in singles by Katie Jesperson and Jessa Richards, who are each 14-1, and Christine Olivo, who is 13-2. In doubles, Richards and Jesperson have combined for a 14-0 mark while Jenna Helleberg and Meredith Lawrence have teamed up for a 15-1 record. Marc Kurtz is in his sixth season as Augustana's head coach.
About Winona State: The Warriors are 5-7 overall and 4-0 in the NSIC. They ended a five-match losing streak with a 9-0 win over Morningside on March 22. Four Winona players are 6-6 in singles play: Aimee Basinski, Brittney Freund, Brianna Havelka and Andrea Krueger. Basinski and Havelka have a 7-5 doubles record, while Jessica Urban and Hannah Potter also have teamed up for a 7-5 doubles record. Heather Pierce is in her third season as Winona State's head coach.
