Box Score 2 BISMARCK, N.D. – Junior catcher
was 1-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored. Freshman third baseman
Kristina Villalobos was 1-for-3 with an RBI, while junior right fielder
Heather Tice had an RBI. Nordby was 1-for-3 and freshman left fielder

Nordby picked up her fourth win on the mound by allowing just two earned runs in seven innings. She scattered eight hits and struck out four while walking one. She opened the game with six shutout innings.
"We did a good job bouncing back strong after the first game," MSUM head coach
Kelsey Fehl said. "We were able to manufacture some runs which was crucial for us. Kristen threw a good game for as well."
York got the Dragons on the board early with at two-out solo home run in the top of the first. In the second inning, Nordby led off with a single, and stole second. One out later, Villalobos singled to score Nordby, giving the Dragons a 2-0 lead.
In the third, Annen led off with a walk, and moved to third when Tice's sacrifice bunt was errant. One out later, York singled to right to score Annen to push the MSUM lead to 3-0.
MSUM added what proved to be two huge runs in the fifth. Williamson led off with a single, and scored when Annen tripled to right center. Tice's groundout scored Annen to stretch the Dragon lead to 5-0.
The Marauders made a rally in the seventh, scoring twice and having the bases loaded with one out. But Nordby escaped the threat by getting the final two outs of the inning to preserve the three-run win.
Not only was York effective at the plate with the 3-for-4 effort, but she also threw out a Mary baserunner trying to steal in the first inning. She has thrown out 17 of the 32 runners who've tried to steal bases this season.
"She's been hitting the ball hard and now the hits are starting to come for her," Fehl said. "And her ability to throw runners out has been huge."
In the first game, the Dragons fell victim to the long ball, as Mary hit three home runs which led to eight runs.
The Dragons managed three hits in the game, led by sophomore pitcher
Morgan Nybo, who was 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI. Annen and York had the other hits for the Dragons. York also scored the Dragons' lone run of the game.
Nybo took the loss for MSUM, giving up 10 earned runs in 5.2 innings. She struck out five and walked four.
Mary built a 5-0 lead after three innings thanks to a pair of homers. In the fourth, York led off with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by junior shortstop
Taylor Huss. One out later, Nybo doubled to center to score York bringing MSUM within 5-1.
The Marauders scored five unanswered runs to secure the 10-1 win.
MSUM is scheduled to play a doubleheader at Winona State at Saturday beginning at noon. The Dragons will wrap up the trip on Sunday at Upper Iowa. The Dragons' long-awaited home opener is set for Tuesday against Minot State.
