BISMARCK, N.D. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team placed three players in double figures, but the Dragons came up short on the road against Mary on Friday, dropping a 69-64 contest to the Marauders in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action in Bismarck, N.D.

MSUM fell to 6-7 overall and 5-4 in the NSIC with the loss while Mary improved to 7-8 overall and 5-4 in the league.

Freshman guard Mallie Doucette drained a three to help the Dragons erase the double-digit deficit.

However, one point was as close as MSUM would get, as Mary scored the next four points to take a 63-58 lead with 2:24 left. MSUM got back within three after Banasik hit two foul shots and Strese went 1-of-2 from the line in the final minute, but Mary buried four free throws in the final 26 seconds to ice the win.

The Dragons led 26-22 with 2:41 left in the first half after a layup by Van Wyhe. Mary ended the half by scoring eight of the next nine points to take a 30-27 lead into halftime.
