The Dragons (16-11) are the No. 2 seed from the NSIC North Division while Winona State (20-7) is the No. 3 seed from the south. MSUM is 10-15 all-time in NSIC tournament games and are one of three teams (along with Wayne State and Winona State) to qualify for all 16 conference tournaments.
The Dragons will meet Winona State for a 73rd time with MSUM holding a 44-28 lead. The Dragons beat Winona State 80-54 on Jan. 3 in Winona.
MSUM opened the tournament with a 78-56 win over Upper Iowa on Wednesday. Junior guard
Meghan Roehrich had 29 points to pace the Dragons while junior forward
Heather Strese had 20 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard
Natalie Van Wyhe had seven assists.
Roehrich leads MSUM at 18.3 points per game while Strese averages 11.3 points and a team-best 7.0 rebounds per game. Van Wyhe averages 4.2 assists per game while sophomore guard
Morgan Banasik leads at 1.6 steals per game. As a team MSUM scores 68.6 points per game and shoots 38.9 percent.

MSUM outrebounds its foes 41.9-35.3 while allowing 65.6 points per game on defense. Teams shoot 39.1 percent against the Dragons this season.
Karla Nelson is in her 15th season as MSUM's head coach with a record of 256-170 at the school.
About Winona StateThe Warriors are 20-7 after beating Mary, 67-62 in the opening round of the NSIC/Sanford Health tournament on Wednesday. Hannah McGlone had 19 points to pace the Warriors while Tara Roelofs added 16. Connor Nagle hit the game-winning three-pointer with 1.6 seconds left to break a 62-62 tie.
Four Warriors average in double figures, led by Kayla Timmerman and Alexis Foley at 11.0 points per game each. Nagle averages 10.7 points per game while Roelofs averages 10.5. Timmerman leads at 6.3 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game while Nagle averages 2.9 assists. Winona State is shooting 43.4 percent from the field and averaging 67.7 points per game.
Winona State outrebounds its foes 38.0-34.4. The Warriors allow 59.3 points per game.
Scott Ballard is in his 11th season as Winona State's head coach with a record of 180-137 at the school.
