LOUIS PARK, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team went undefeated in doubles on the day on its way to wins over Minnesota State, Mankato (6-3) and Southwest Minnesota State (8-1) in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Saturday in St. Louis Park, Minn.
Morgan SmithMSUM is now 5-2 overall and in the NSIC after the two wins.
"Today was a real test of not only our team's tennis ability but their fitness as well," MSUM head coach
Oliver Summers said. "Playing two matches back-to-back at two different locations right after a long van ride wasn't easy. I'm so proud of the team to get these two important conference victories and to win every single doubles match today was a sign that all our hard teamwork is paying off."
MSUM opened the day with a 6-3 win over Minnesota State, thanks to a sweep in doubles play. MSUM sophomore

Ashley Wood teamed up for a 9-7 win over Killian Doran and Sarah McCann at No. 1 doubles, while sophomore
Rebecca Lukes and senior
Andrea Rognlien earned an 8-6 win over Melissa Mashburn and Destiny Lee at No. 2 doubles. Juniors
Morgan Smith and
Cassie Smith combined to earn an 8-2 win over Lisa Dobbelare and Andrea Erdman at No. 3 doubles.
Rognlien earned a 6-2, 6-3 win Doran at No. 1 singles for the Dragons while Jones beat Mashburn, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. Lukes won a hard-fought match at No. 6 singles, beating Erdman, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4).
The doubles success continued for MSUM against SMSU. Jones and Wood earned an 8-6 win over Katie Kienitz and Gabby Tellijohn at No. 1 doubles, while Rognlien and Lukes beat SMSU's tandem of Crystal Overbaugh and Mariya Krumm, 8-3 at No. 2.

Cassie Smith rolled to an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles over Ashley Hoehne and Nicole McQueen to help the Dragons with the doubles sweep.
MSUM won five of six singles matches. Rognlien beat Tellijohn 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles while Jones improved to 7-0 on the year with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Overbaugh at No. 2.
Morgan Smith beat Kientz, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles while Wood dominated Krumm, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4. Lukes was strong at No. 6 singles, beating Lukes 6-0, 6-0.
The Dragons' next action is on Friday at home against Division I foe Montana State. The match begins at 1 p.m. at Courts Plus in Fargo, N.D.
