CLERMONT, Fla. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead softball team stretched its winning streak to five games with two more wins on Friday at the NTC Spring Games in Clermont, Fla. The Dragons beat Wayne State (Mich.) 6-5 to open the day and topped St. Michael's College, 6-2 to cap off the day.

wins on Saturday.MSUM (10-4) finished the tournament with an 8-2 record, the Dragons' best record on their annual Florida trip since going 10-2 in 2006.

Kelsey Fehl said. "It is exciting to build on that going into our conference season."
Against Wayne State, MSUM twice rallied from two-run deficits and scored the game-winner on senior
Brittany York's walk-off double to give MSUM a one-run win.
Junior right fielder
Kristy Bruni had huge game offensively, going 2-for-3 with a pair of two-run homers and five RBI. York had a double and an RBI, while sophomore left fielder
Carly Williamson was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Junior pitcher
Morgan Nybo and senior shortstop
Taylor Huss each had hits for MSUM.
Nybo picked up the win, going the distance. She struck out one and walked none and allowed five runs, but only one was earned.

Morgan Nybo pitched a great game."
MSUM's winning rally came in the seventh. Williamson led off with a triple, and two outs later, York ripped a double to score Williamson and give MSUM a 6-5 win.
The Dragons got on the board first in the second inning. Huss doubled to lead off the inning and later moved to third on an error. Bruni's RBI groundout scored Huss with MSUM's first run.
Wayne State scored three runs in the third to take a 3-1 lead. MSUM answered in the bottom of the fourth as Nybo singled with one out. She scored when Bruni crushed a two-run homer to center field, tying the game at 3-3.
The Wildcats regained the lead in the top of the sixth at 5-3, but Bruni and the Dragons answered in the bottom of the frame.
With one out, junior designated hitter
Kristen Nordby walked. One out later, Bruni hit another home run, again a two-run shot, to tie the game at 5-5, where the game stayed until York's game-winning hit in the seventh.
Huss led the Dragon bats in the win over St. Michael's, going 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI. York was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI while sophomore
Hannah Klug was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Senior center fielder
Mollie Annen was 2-for-4 while Nordby, Nybo and Williamson all had hits for MSUM.
Nybo had another quality performance on the mound, allowing two runs (one earned), striking out three while walking one.
"It was another good pitching performance by Morgan," Fehl said. "We came up with some key hits to score runs."
MSUM took a 2-0 lead in the third. Annen led off with a single and was sacrificed to second by Klug. York singled to move Annen to third. Huss laid down a squeeze bunt to score Annen to put MSUM in front 1-0. Nordby delivered a double to center to score Huss, giving MSUM a 2-0 lead.
St. Michael's closed the gap to 2-1 with a run in the third. In the fifth, MSUM extended the lead to 4-1, thanks to a two-run homer by Huss. Annen led off the inning with a single, and was forced out at second on a fielder's choice by York. Huss followed with her team-best fifth home run to push MSUM up by three runs.
The Dragons added two insurance runs in the sixth when York ripped a two-run double to score Annen and Klug, giving them a 6-1 cushion.
St. Michael's got one run back in the seventh but got no closer in a 6-2 Dragon win.
MSUM is back in action on March 24 when it competes at Northern State to open the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference season. The doubleheader begins at 2 p.m. in Aberdeen, S.D.
