Box ScoreMINNETONKA, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis saw its season come to an end on Sunday in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship semifinals as the Dragons fell to Upper Iowa, 5-0 in action at LifeTime Fitness in Minnetonka, Minn.
MSUM ended the season with a 10-10 record while Upper Iowa, which lost in the championship match to Augustana later in the day, improved to 13-4.
Upper Iowa won all three doubles matches and earned wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles to clinch the match. The No. 1 singles match was unfinished while the No. 4, 5 and 6 singles matches were not played after the outcome of the team match was already decided.
The closest doubles match was at No. 2, where junior
Ashley Wood and sophomore
Jessamy Jones battled before falling 8-4 to Upper Iowa's Vicky Vodavoz and Victoria Kulbokas. Upper Iowa won 8-3 at No. 1 doubles and 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, Saki Kawabata beat MSUM's Jones, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles while Vodavoz topped junior
Morgan Smith, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. At No. 1 singles, MSUM senior
Andrea Rognlien was leading in her match over Iris Verweij, 6-3, 5-3 when the match was called after the team outcome was decided.

Oliver Summers said. "I couldn't ask for a better team. We hit all our goals this year and stayed classy doing it. We'll be back even stronger next year."
