SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team trailed just 1-0 going into the final minute before Augustana added a key insurance goal to record a 2-0 win over the Dragons in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Saturday in Sioux Falls, S.D.
MSUM fell to 1-3-2 overall and 1-3-0 in the NSIC, while Augustana improved to 5-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the league.
Senior goalkeeper
Ashley Leintz had another solid outing, recording 14 saves in 90 minutes of action. Leintz's 14 saves were a season-high.
Junior forward
Jessica Johnson led with three shots (one on goal) while junior midfielder
Gabrielle Bjorge also had a shot on goal for MSUM. Augustana had a 29-7 edge in shots in the game.
MSUM will look to gain a weekend split on Sunday when the Dragons play at Wayne State (Neb.) for a 1 p.m. game.
