Live StatsLive VideoMOORHEAD, Minn. — After playing four consecutive games on the road, the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team is back home this weekend for a pair of conference games. MSUM will host No. 13-ranked Minnesota State at noon on Saturday and wrap up the weekend against Concordia-St. Paul at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
MSUM will meet Minnesota State for a 14th time with the Mavericks holding an 11-2 series lead. Mankato has won 10 straight meetings, with MSUM's last win coming in 1997. The Dragons will meet Concordia for a 19th time with the Golden Bears leading the series, 12-4-2
MSUM is 1-3-3 on the season after splitting on the road last weekend. The Dragons lost at No. 23 Augustana, 2-0 on Saturday before tying Wayne State, 1-1 in double overtime on Sunday. Those two contests wrapped up a stretch of four straight road games for MSUM.
Senior
Lindsey Micheletti leads the Dragons in assists (two) and points (four). She also shares the team lead with one goal with juniors
Jessica Johnson and
Sienna Rebollozo.
Freshman
Jessica Dallman has an assist for MSUM.
Johnson leads the team in shots (26) and shots on goal (12) while sophomore
Mackenzie Carlson has 17 shots, including six on goal.
MSUM's defense has been stout through seven games, allowing just eight goals. Senior goalkeeper
Ashley Leintz has 69 saves and leads the NSIC in saves and saves per game (9.9). Leintz has two shutouts this season and has a 1.08 goals allowed average.
Rollie Bulock is in his 17th season as MSUM's head coach.
About Minnesota StateDefending NSIC champion Minnesota State, Mankato is 7-1 overall and 5-0 in the conference.
The Mavericks have won four in a row, including shutout wins at Minnesota Crookston (2-0) and Bemidji State (1-0) last weekend. MSU was ranked 13th in the latest NSCAA poll released on Sept. 22.
The Mavericks have dominated their opposition this season, outscoring their foes 28-3 in eight games. Kiana Nickel leads with seven goals and 15 points, while Morgan Cottew has six goals and 13 points. Thirteen different Maverick players have scored a goal this season.
Lauren Hoeppner has been stellar in goal for Mankato, recording 39 saves through eight games. She has a 0.40 goals allowed average and has five shutouts so far this season.
Minnesota State was picked to finish first in the NSIC preseason coaches poll.
Brian Bahl is in his third season as MSU's head coach with a record of 46-5-2 at the school.
About Concordia-St. PaulConcordia-St. Paul is 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the NSIC. The Golden Bears, who will face Northern State on Oct. 3 prior to facing MSUM, split on the road last weekend, losing to Minnesota-Crookston (2-0) before edging Bemidji State (1-0).
Jessica Bianchi and Alahna Anderson each have two goals, two assists and six points on the season, while Taryn MacMillan and Chelsie Lindsay have four points each. Jade Weller leads withthree assists. Seven different Golden Bear players have scored goals this season.
Emma Gartner has been CSP's primary goalkeeper this season. She has a 2-4 record with a 1.37 goals allowed average. Gartner has 34 saves in seven starts.
Concordia-St. Paul tied for 10th in the NSIC preseason coaches poll.
Steve Bellis is in his fifth season as Concordia-St. Paul's head coach with a record of 28-48-3 at the school.
Leintz Surpasses 300 SavesWith her 20 saves last week, Dragon senior goalkeeper
Ashley Leintz has surpassed 300 for her Dragon career. The Bismarck, N.D., native now has 314 career saves and trails all-time leader Alison Warner (398) by 84 saves with 10 regular-season games.
