FAYETTE, Iowa — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team ended the weekend with a 2-0 loss to Upper Iowa in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action on Sunday in Fayette, Iowa.
MSUM finished with four shots in the game. Sophomores
Hannah Loos and
Ashley Coleman and freshman
Rachel Jenson each had a shot on goal for MSUM, while sophomore
Kendall Schauer added a shot.
"Our players gave their all and played with heart," MSUM head coach
Christie Chappell said.
Junior
Corina Edgington made the start in net for MSUM and recorded five saves.
Upper Iowa scored two first-half goals — one on a penalty kick — to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. The Dragons kept the Peacocks off of the scoreboard in the second half but were unable to cut into the lead.
MSUM wraps up the regular season with two games this week, starting with their home finale on Friday against Minot State. Game time is 3 p.m. at the MSUM Soccer Field.
