ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team dropped a three-set contest at No. 3-ranked Concordia-St. Paul on Friday in St. Paul, Minn. The scores were 25-13, 29-27 and 25-13.
MSUM fell to 9-14 overall and 4-11 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference while CSP improved to 21-2 overall and 13-2 in the league.

Makayla Wenzel had 21 set assists and six digs for MSUM while junior setter
Rachel Sanow had 10 assists. Sophomore libero
Monica Vega had 12 digs. Junior hitter
Carly Masloski had nine kills while redshirt freshman
Ellie Rutten had eight kills. Junior
Taylor Liesemeyer and redshirt freshman
Sarah Hagler had five kills each. Hagler had three block assists.
MSUM hit .163 for the match while the Golden Bears hit .357.
The Dragons were within 10-8 in the first set after a block from Masloski and Liesemeyer. Concordia scored five of the next six points to build the lead to 15-9 on its way to a 25-13 win.
The second set saw MSUM build a 17-13 lead. After CSP cut the lead to 17-16, MSUM scored four of the next five points – including two kills from senior
Tyann Caspers and a kill from Liesemeyer – to push the lead to 21-17. A Rutten kill gave MSUM a 24-22 lead, and the Dragons had three set points but were unable to finish as the Golden Bears prevailed 29-27.
CSP built a 10-3 lead in the third set and MSUM got no closer than seven the rest of the way to take a 25-13 win.
MSUM wraps up the weekend at Minnesota State on Saturday. The match begins at 4 p.m. in Mankato, Minn.
