WAYNE, Neb. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team led 2-1 in the match, but No. 8 Wayne State rallied to win the final two sets in a 23-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20, 15-9 win over the Dragons in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Friday night in Wayne, Neb.
MSUM is now 10-17 overall and 5-14 in the NSIC while Wayne State is 22-6 overall and 13-6 in the league.
How it happened…
MSUM took the first set 25-23, battling back from a 20-16 deficit to earn the win. Junior
Carly Masloski, who finished off the set with a kill, had five in the first set alone.
Wayne State captured the second set 25-19, but MSUM regained the momentum in the third. Leading 17-16, the Dragons scored three straight points – with kills coming from Masloski, freshman hitter

Mikayla Larson – to build a 20-16 lead. MSUM went on to take the set 25-21.
The Wildcats took the fourth set in the seesaw battle by a 25-20 score to even the match at two sets each.
The fifth set was tied at 6-6 before Wayne State scored three points in a row to take a 9-6 lead. MSUM got with 9-7 but could get no closer and fell 15-9.

Monica Vega led with 24 digs followed by Wenzel with 18, Selbitschka with 14 and Sanow with 11. Masloski had four block assists while Hagler had one solo block and three assists.

Friday was the 10th time in conference play MSUM has faced a ranked opponent this season.
