Box ScoreFARGO, N.D. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team improved to 5-2 on the season with a 6-3 win over Minnesota State, Mankato in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Saturday at Courts Plus in Fargo, N.D. MSUM won two of three doubles matches and four singles matches on its way to the win.
MSUM is now 5-2 overall and 4-2 in the NSIC while Minnesota State is 4-4 overall and 3-3 in the NSIC.
"I'm really proud of the team," MSUM head coach
Oliver Summers said. "We've been working hard on doubles all week leading up to this match to get us a good start and it paid off. Mankato is a tough team and this was a great result for us."

Ashley Wood teamed up for an 8-5 win over MSU's Killian Doran and Abby Schmidt at No. 2 doubles, while senior
Morgan Smith and sophomore
Ricquel Ramsbottom picked up an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles over the Maverick tandem of Katia Salinda and Lisa Dobbelaere.
In singles, Jones beat MSU's Melissa Mashburn, 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 1 slot. Smith won a hard-fought three-set contest at No. 4, beating Dobbelaere 6-3, 3-6, 10-7. Wood dominated Schmidt at No. 5 singles by a 6-1, 6-0 score while Ramsbottom down Nina Riesselman at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-2.
The Dragons wrap up the weekend against Southwest Minnesota State at 9 a.m. on Sunday at Courts Plus.
