MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team opens play at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament on Saturday against Minnesota State. The Dragons, the fourth seed, will face the fifth-seeded Mavericks at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in Minnetonka, Minn.
The Dragons defeated the Mavericks 6-3 in February. The Dragons won that match by a 6-3 score thanks to winning two doubles matches and four singles matches.
The Dragons enter the conference tournament with a 8-7 overall record, and a 7-4 conference record. They were last in action on April 9, when they lost to Upper Iowa by a 5-4 score. In that match, the Dragons got a win at the No. 3 doubles match, when senior

MSUM also picked up a win at No. 2 singles, where sophomore
Jade Goodyear-Anderson won a 6-3, 1-6, 10-8 match over Isabella Sella. The match came down to the No. 5 singles match, where senior
Ashley Wood was unable to prevail, as she dropped a 6-7. 6-7, 10-5 match.
This season, the Dragons are led in singles play by Ramsbottom, who has a 11-3 overall and conference record. Smith is at 10-5 while Wood, Goodyear-Anderson and junior
Jessamy Jones are each 9-6. In doubles play, the Dragons are led by Jones and Wood, who have a 9-6 overall and conference record.

Oliver Summers, who is in his fourth season.

The Mavericks enter the conference tournament with a 9-8 overall record, and a 7-4 conference record. They were last in action on April 10, where they defeated Minesota-Crookston 9-0.
