MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team opened the 2016 season with a 1-0 overtime loss to the University of Minnesota Crookston in a nonconference matchup Thursday evening in at the MSUM Soccer Field.
MSUM falls to 0-1 on the season, while UMC advances to 1-0.
Freshman midfielder Lindsey Daml had the only goal of the match 6:57 into for first overtime securing the first win of the season for UMC.
Senior midfielder
Jessica Johnson led the Dragons with two shots. Sophomore midfielder
Jessica Dallman added one shot on goal for MSUM. Junior goalkeeper
Reagan VonBerge made five saves with one goal allowed in 96:57 of play.
The Golden Eagles led the total shots on goal 12-3 over the Dragons.
The Dragons returns to the pitch on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 1 p.m. when they battle Black Hills State in its inaugural season at the MSUM Soccer Field.
