MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team lost a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match to No. 14 Augustana (12-1, 5-0 NSIC) on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings won 25-16, 25-14, and 25-12.
MSUM is now 6-7 overall and 1-4 in the NSIC.
The Dragons finished the match with 26 kills hitting .070 at the net, 26 assists, 45 digs and seven total blocks. Junior captain hitter
Carly Masloski had a team-high seven kills and hit .211. Masloski also had one dig and two blocks.

Tyann Caspers contributed four kills and a .200 hitting percentage. Junior setter

Makayla Wenzel each had 13 assists. Sophomore libero
Monica Vega had a team-high 14 digs.
Augustana jumped out to early leads in each of the three sets. In the first set, the Vikings scored the first point and didn't relinquish the lead for the remainder of the match winning the first set 25-16. The second set was much of the same story, the Dragons fought early to keep it close, but the Vikings finished the second set with a 25-14 win. In the third and final set, Augustana went on an 8-0 run to end the third set and ultimately the match 25-12.
The Dragons return to action on Friday, Sept. 30 on the road at Sioux Falls. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
