DULUTH, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team dropped its first two matches of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play this weekend, losing a 5-4 decision to Minnesota Duluth on Friday and a 5-4 decision to St. Cloud State.
MSUM is 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the NSIC.
Senior
Jessamy Jones went 2-0 at No. 1 singles for the weekend for MSUM, while freshman
Olivia Keelin (No. 2 singles) and senior
Maria Moral Carretero (No. 5 singles) each had 2-0 marks.
The Dragons went 8-4 in singles on the week but also went 0-6 in doubles.
"It's clear that we need to work on our doubles, not to take any credit away from St. Cloud or Duluth, who played great," MSUM head coach
Oliver Summers said. "We have great players individually but these next five practices we're going to work really hard on doubles."
MSUM will face Augustana and Sioux Falls in Bismarck, N.D., on Feb. 18-19.
