MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team hits the road this weekend for their first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference road trip of the season. They will face Minnesota Duluth on Friday, and will battle St. Cloud State on Saturday in Virginia, Minn.
MSUM is 1-0 overall after blanking Concordia 9-0 in a nonconference match on Feb. 3

The Dragons opened the season last Friday with a 9-0 win over crosstown rival Concordia at Courts Plus in Fargo, N.D. The Dragons lost just seven games in doubles play. Senior

Ricquel Ramsbottom beat Concordia's Kendra Stoick and Ive Mattson 8-2 in No. 1 doubles, while junior
Maria Moral Carretero and freshman
Chessa Jones won 8-4 at No. 2 doubles. The Dragons completed the sweep at No. 3 doubles when freshmen
Maia Wendel and Danielle Unruch won 8-1 over Mikaila Carney and Talia Daizell.
The Dragons also swept singles play, as they didn't lose a set. Jones took home a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, while freshman
Olivia Keelin won her college debut with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles. Freshman
Alexis Konecne won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 singles, while Ramsbottom won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Moral Carretero won at No. 5 singles, while freshman
Emma Zamora won a 6-2, 6-0 match to finish the sweep.
About the Bulldogs
The Bulldogs are 1-2 on the season, with a nonconference win over St. Cathrine 5-4. Their two losses came to St. Scholastica (3-6), and Northwestern (3-6). The match with MSUM will be their first conference match of the season. Megan Anderson leads the Bulldogs in singles play with a 3-0 record. Drew DeCorsey has a 2-0 record so far in singles play. Anderson and DeCorsey have a 2-1 record in doubles play to lead the Bulldogs there.
About the Huskies
This will be the first match of the season for the Huskies, who finished last season with a 12-9 record, with an 8-3 mark in conference play. They faced the Dragons once last season, a 6-3 win for MSUM. They will be led by junior Alexie Portz, who led SCSU with a 15-4 singles record. Sophomore Jill Kedrowski will also look to lead, she finished last season with a 14-4 singles record. Portz and Kedrowski teamed up in doubles play to lead the Huskies with a 14-4 record.
