MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team (7-5) will travel to Bismarck, ND. for a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matchup with the University of Mary (3-8). The match will start at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Capital Racquet and Fitness Center.
About the Dragons
The Dragons are coming off their spring break trip to Florida, where they went 3-2, with wins over Ave Maria, Moravian College, and John Carroll. Their two losses came to Saginaw Valley State and the University of Sciences. Their last conference march was on Feb. 25 when they defeated Minnesota State University 5-4. Senior
Maria Moral Carretero was named the NSIC Player of the Week after going 4-1 in Florida.
The Dragons are led by
Maria Moral Carretero, who is 10-2 on the season in singles play. She was also named the NSIC Tennis player of the week. Other top performers for the Dragons include
Jessamy Jones (8-4),
Olivia Keelin (7-2), and
Emma Zamora (4-2). In doubles play, the Dragons are led by the team of Keelin and
Alexis Konecne, who are 7-4 on the season.
Oliver Summers is in his fifth season as the MSUM head coach.
About the Marauders
The Marauders are also coming off a spring break trip to Florida, where they went 2-3, with wins over Kentucky Wesleyan College and Wartburg College, with losses to Otterbein University, Hanover College, and Augustana College (IL). The last conference match was on Feb. 26 when they defeated Southwest Minnesota State 7-2.
The Marauders are led by Cristina Bremar, who is 5-1 on the season, and Elleen Leong, who is 6-4 on the season. Their top doubles team is Shanna Stevenson and Lisa Anderson, who are 6-4 on the season in doubles play.

The Dragons next match will be on March 24, when they host the University of Minnesota-Morris at Courts Plus in Fargo.
