SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 double overtime tie with the University of Sioux Falls in action Saturday in Sioux Falls, S.D.
MSUM is now 0-2-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference while USF is 2-2-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the league.
"It was amazing to see the grit and heart our team showed on the field today," MSUM senior goalkeeper
Corina Edgington said. "We kept our intensity level high for the entire 110 minutes and it paid off."
Edgington held USF to one goal in 110 minutes of action. She had two saves.
The Cougars scored in the 15
th minute of the first half to take a 1-0 lead. The Dragons responded early in the second half as sophomore
Maren Soupir found the back of the net off of an assist from senior defender
Jenai DeNardo.

Michelle Martinez said: "It was a hard-fought battle. We started off a little slow but pulled it together for the second half – I am proud of the team."
USF had a slight 12-11 edge in shots. Junior forward
Annika Greaney led with three shots (one on goal) while Soupir and sophomore Marie Griffth had two each.
MSUM wraps up the weekend Sunday at Southwest Minnesota State. Game time is 1 p.m. in Marshall, Minn.
