DULUTH, Minn. — Five players scored in double figures as Minnesota State University Moorhead rolled to an 81-45 rout of Minnesota Duluth in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women's basketball Friday night in Duluth, Minn. The Dragons have won eight in a row, which is the longest active streak in the NSIC.
MSUM is now 14-3 overall and 11-2 in the NSIC while UMD fell to 11-5 overall and 8-4 in the league.
Junior guard
Jacky Volkert led MSUM with 15 points while adding five assists. Sophomore forward
Megan Hintz had 13 points and nine rebounds while senior guard
Cassidy Thorson and senior forward
Drew Sannes had 11 each. Sophomore forward
Madi Green had 10 points. Freshman guard
Lauren Fech had a game-high six assists.
The Dragons shot 47.7 percent (31-of-65) while holding the Bulldogs to 28.1 percent (16-of-57). MSUM had a commanding 50-31 edge in rebounds.
The Bulldogs led 9-6 midway through the first quarter but MSUM closed the frame on a 12-1 run to take an 18-10 lead after the first 10 minutes. Three-pointers by Thorson, sophomore guard

Kiley Borowicz sparked the run.
MSUM pushed the lead to 41-22 at half, outscoring the Bulldogs 23-12 in the second. Hintz and Volkert had eight first-half points while Borowicz had seven.
The Dragon domination continued in the second half as MSUM built its lead to as many as 40 points on its way to an 81-45 win.
Borowicz had nine points off the bench for MSUM.
The Dragons play at St. Cloud State on Saturday at 4 p.m.
