ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Freshman guard
Kiley Borowicz had a game-high 17 points to lead a balanced Minnesota State University Moorhead attack as the Dragon women rolled past St. Cloud State, 78-54 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Saturday in St. Cloud, Minn. The win was the ninth in a row for MSUM.
MSUM is now 15-3 overall and 12-2 in the NSIC. The Dragons are one game behind Augustana in the overall NSIC race but lead the NSIC North by one game over Northern State.
Borowicz was 6-of-10 from the field and also added two assists. Senior guard
Cassidy Thorson had 15 points and five assists while senior forward
Drew Sannes had 13 points and five rebounds. Sophomore forward
Megan Hintz had 11 points while junior guard
Jacky Volkert had nine points, a team-high seven rebounds and a team-high seven assists.
The Dragons shot 48.3 percent (29-of-60) from the field while holding the Huskies to 34.5 percent (20-of-58) shooting. The Dragons had a 45-29 edge in rebounds.
MSUM never trailed. The Dragons broke a 3-3 tie and went on a 15-7 run over the next eight minutes to surge into an 18-10 lead. Thorson hit two 3-pointers during that run while Sannes and Borowicz also drained threes.
The Dragons stretched the lead to 16 by halftime (45-29) thanks to a 25-point second quarter. The trio of Sannes, Thorson and Volkert combined for 29 first-half points.
MSUM pulled away in the second half, leading by as many as 30 on its way to a ninth straight victory.

Madi Green had eight points off the bench for MSUM. Senior forward
Shannon Galegher had four assists.
MSUM returns home to host Southwest Minnesota State on Friday at 6 p.m.
Steve d'Eustachio Stat of the Game: Tonight was the first time that the Dragons held an opponent to under 50 points on the road (won 81-45 at UMD), then won the next night since winning 57-43 at Upper Iowa on Jan. 12, 2007, then winning at Winona St. 72-68 the next night.
