MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team ended the game on an 11-0 run on its way to a 66-51 win over Southwest Minnesota State in action Friday night at Nemzek Fieldhouse in Moorhead, Minn.

MSUM has won 10 in a row and is 16-3 overall and 13-2 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. SMSU fell to 4-14 overall and 3-12 in the NSIC.
Senior forward
Drew Sannes led MSUM with 20 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. Freshman guard
Kiley Borowicz had 11 points while junior guard
Jacky Volkert had eight points and eight rebounds. Senior guard
Cassidy Thorson, who received a game ball in honor of breaking the MSUM career three-point record after the game, had nine rebounds.
MSUM shot 42.2 percent (27-of-64) from the field while holding the Mustangs to 37.3 percent (19-of-51) shooting. The Dragons had a 39-34 edge in rebounds and forced 16 SMSU turnovers, which led to a 25-7 Dragon edge in points off of turnovers.
The Dragons led by as many as 19 in the first half and led by 10 going into the fourth. SMSU cut the deficit to 55-51 with 6:01 left and the game stayed that way until freshman guard
Lauren Fech hit a bucket to make it 57-51 with 4:38 left.
After Fech's bucket, Thorson hit a three and Sannes followed with a basket to make it 62-51 with 2:56 left and from there the Dragons went on to take the win. MSUM held the Mustangs without a point for the final 6:01 of the game.
MSUM started out in similar fashion, opening on a 9-0 run in the first four minutes of the game. The lead grew to 34-15 with 3:14 left in the second quarter after a basket by sophomore forward
Madi Green. The Dragons led 36-24 at halftime thanks to 12 first-half points from Sannes.

MSUM wraps up the home weekend on Saturday against Sioux Falls. Game time is 4 p.m. Saturday at Nemzek Fieldhouse.
