MSUM Women's Soccer Returns Home to Face Wildcats and Vikings

The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team returns home to take on two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opponents on Friday and Sunday. MSUM will face Wayne State (Neb.) on Friday at 3 p.m. and Augustana (S.D.) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
The Dragons dropped both matchups last season by identical scores of 1-0.
 
MSUM is coming off a road trip where they went 0-2. The team faced St. Cloud State on Friday and fell 1-0 in overtime. The Dragons then traveled to Duluth and fell 2-0 to the Bulldogs. The Dragons are now 2-9 overall and 2-7 in NSIC play with six games remaining in the regular season.
 
Sophomore Carly Jo Gamrath and senior Tomomi Nishihara lead the team with two goals, while senior Jessica Dallman and freshman Jennifer Barnes each have one goal. Gamrath also has two assists to lead the team, and her six points leads the squad. Dallman and senior Kendall Schauer have each added an assist on the year.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Kayleigh Sedlacek has played in all 11 games and has 85 saves on the year. She has a 1.54 goals against average in 932:24 minutes of play.
 
The Dragons are led by head coach Christie Kopietz who is in her third season at the helm.
 
About Wayne State (Neb.)
The Wildcats are 3-7-1 overall and 3-5-1 in NSIC action. Last week, Wayne State went 1-1 after a 1-0 overtime victory against Upper Iowa and a 2-0 loss to Winona State. They team has played five overtime games this season with a 1-3-1 record. Rylie Wehner leads the team with three goals and is followed by Sophia Ketchmark and Madison Kemp who each have two. Ketchmark and Natalie Rech each have two assists. Two goalkeepers have seen time this season with Alyssa Bagley contributing 660:00 minutes and a 3-3-1 record. Bagley has a .95 goals against average and 31 saves. Rachel Grishman has seen action in four games in the net and has 23 saves for a 2.33 goals against average. Joe Cleary is in his second season as head coach for the Wildcats.
 
About Augustana (S.D)
The Vikings are 7-3-2 overall at 6-2-1 in the NSIC. Last week, Augustana dropped a 2-1 game to Winona State and tied Upper Iowa 1-1. Offensively, the Vikings are led by Alexis Legg with has eight goals and one assist for 17 points. Julie Plonsky has three goals, and six additional players have contributed one goal. Reiley Klose and Peyton Stenzel each have three assists on the year. Claudia Pueschner has started 10 games in the net a has a .75 goals against average with 71 saves. Meghan Kuntz started her first game on the year on Sunday and held Upper Iowa to one goal in 110:00 minutes of play. The Vikings are outshooting their opponents 210-156 this season. Head coach Brandon Barkus has been leading the team since 2006.
