MSUM Soccer Travels to No. 8 Bemidji State, Back Home Against Minnesota Crookston

The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team will play their final regular-season games this week. The Dragons will travel to face No. 8 Bemidji State on Friday at 4 p.m., and return home on Sunday to take on Minnesota Crookston at 1 p.m.

Sunday's contest will be Senior Day, as the Dragons honor seven seniors: Annika Greaney, Jessica Dallman, Tomomi Nishihara, Marissa Wong, Kylee Billings, Hannah Loos, and Kendall Schauer.
 
The Dragons fell 6-1 to Bemidji State last season and tied Minnesota Crookston 0-0.
 
MSUM is coming off a weekend on the road where they went 0-2. The team faced Concordia-St. Paul and lost 1-0 in the final minutes. On Sunday the Dragons played No. 23 Minnesota State and fell 3-0. The Dragons are now 3-12 overall and 3-10 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
 
Sophomore Carly Jo Gamrath and senior Tomomi Nishihara lead the team with two goals. Seniors Jessica Dallman and Kylee Billings each have one, as well as freshman Jennifer Barnes who has one. Gamrath also has two assists to lead the team, and has a team-leading six points. Dallman and senior Kendall Schauer have each added an assist on the year.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Kayleigh Sedlacek has played in 14 games and posts a 1.43 goals against average. Sedlacek has 115 saves on the year and has two shutouts. Junior goalkeeper Kennedy Rodgers has played in four games and has a 3.88 goals against average. Dragons goalkeepers have 135 total saves compared to 45 from the opposition.
 
The Dragons are led by Christie Kopietz who is in her third season at the helm.
 
About Bemidji State
The Beavers are 15-0-1 overall and 12-0-1 in the NSIC. Last week, the Beavers defeated Wayne State (Neb.) 3-0 and fought Augustana University (S.D.) to a 0-0 draw. As a team, the Beavers are outscoring their opponents 2.5 to .50. They average 16.8 shots per game compared to 9.2 from their opponents. Rachael Norton leads the team with 16 goals and seven assists. Norton's 39 points ranks first in the NSIC and is tied for third in the nation. Allyson Smith has six goals and five assists in 12 games, and Dani Nelson has five goals and four assists in 14 contests. Alanna Mattson and Melanie Peltier each have seven assists to match Norton for a team-high. Goalkeeper Anna Fobbe has played in all 16 games and has allowed only eight goals. Her .50 goals against average ranks second in the NSIC, while her nine shutouts leads the conference. Head coach Jim Stone is in his 17th year at the helm.
 
About Minnesota Crookston
The Golden Eagles are 1-13-2 overall and 1-10-2 in the NSIC. Last week, the Golden Eagles went 0-2 after a 7-0 loss to Augustana University (S.D.) and a 6-0 loss to Wayne State (Neb.). UMC averages .38 goals per game while allowing their opponents to score 3.19 goals per game. Maggee Hodgdon leads the team with three goals, while three additional players have scored one. Kayla Strangeland and Jessica Scott each have an assist.  Goalkeeper Athena DiMario Done has played in 11 contests and has a 2.82 goals against average. Olivia Puttin has also seen time at goalkeeper and has a 3.61 goals against average in seven games. Head coach Joe Alianiello is in his seventh year at the helm.
