VANCOUVER, B.C. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead men's basketball team led by four at halftime but Simon Fraser rallied in the second half to record a 92-81 win over the Dragons on Saturday night in Vancouver, B.C.

MSUM is now 3-2 on the nonconference season while Simon Fraser is now 2-2.

Senior guard Travaun Coad led MSUM with 20 points, five assists and six rebounds. Freshman guard Gavin Baumgartner added 18 points, while freshman guard Bryce Irsfeld had 17 points. Senior forward Addison Park had 13 points and two steals.

MSUM shot 46.4 percent (28-of-59) for the game compared to 62.7 percent (32-of-51) by Simon Fraser.  The Clan outrebounded the Dragons 31-21.

An Irsfeld three-pointer with 10 minutes left in the first half put MSUM up 20-10. Simon Fraser responded with a 14-3 run to take a 24-23 lead with 6:36 left in the half. The Dragons took a 37-33 lead into halftime, thanks to 10 points from Baumgartner and nine points each from Irsfeld and Coad.

In a game with four ties and 12 lead changes, MSUM held a 60-58 lead after Irsfeld drained a three-pointer. Simon Fraser regained the lead and led the rest of the way, although MSUM was within 82-79 with 2:25 left after another Irsfeld three. But MSUM got no closer as Simon Fraser went 8-of-8 from the line in the final 1:55 to secure the win.

MSUM will face Langara College at 8 p.m. Central time on Sunday in Vancouver.
