Dragon Men's Basketball Rolls Past Langara College, 116-50

VANCOUVER, B.C. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead men's basketball team had six players scored in double-figures en route to a 116-50 win over Langara College (B.C.) in nonconference action on Sunday in Vancouver, B.C.

MSUM improves to 4-2 on the year.

Senior guard Briton Bussman led the team with 20 points (8-of-13) with 14 points coming in the second half. Bussman also contributed four rebounds and six assists. Freshman center Jesse Bergh had a career-high 19 points and seven rebounds. Senior forward Jake Johnson and freshman guard Jake Mertens had 13 and 12 points, respectively. Senior forward Addison Park led the team with eight rebounds, and the Dragons outrebounded the opposition 47-35.

MSUM shot 55.7 percent (49-of-88) from the field, including 60.0 percent (15-of-33) from the three-point range. The Dragons had a season-high 11 steals on the night.

The Dragons opened the game on an 11-0 run in the first 3:37. Bergh had eight points during the scoring run. After 6:03 of play, Park had seven points and six rebounds to increase the Dragon lead to 18-4. A field goal from senior guard Travaun Coad with :08 left in the half game MSUM their largest lead of the half at 62-19. Freshman guard Bryce Irsfeld had six assists in the half, while Park and Bergh each contributed 10 points.

MSUM continued to build on their commanding lead in the second half, and a layup by Bussman solidified a 116-50 victory. The 66-point margin was the largest of the night.

MSUM wraps up the Simon Fraser Classic on Monday at 7 p.m. CT against Douglas College (B.C.) in Vancouver.
