Addison Park was not enough as the Minnesota State University Moorhead men's basketball team came up short against the University of Mary, 78-73.

MSUM falls to 7-5 overall and 1-3 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. U-Mary improves to 6-4 overall and 3-1 in the NSIC.

Park led with 26 points while freshman guard
Gavin Baumgartner followed with 15 points and a team-best 12 rebounds. Junior guard
Johnny Beeninga chipped in 15 points and led the team with five assists. Beeninga had two steals on the night.

The Dragons shot 45.5 percent (25-of-55) from the field compared to 48.1 percent (26-of-54) from the Marauders. Each team had 33 rebounds.

The Dragons took an 8-4 lead at the 14:10 mark in the first half thanks to six points from Park. MSUM had a 21-15 lead with 6:18 remaining off two made free throws from freshman guard
Bryce Irsfeld. U-Mary pulled within one with 1:31 in the first half to bring the score to 28-27, but five points from Beeninga down the stretch gave MSUM a 36-31 lead going into halftime.

The Marauders claimed a 41-40 lead at the 14:01 mark in the second half, but a Baumgartner lay-up gave MSUM a 42-41 lead. U-Mary retook the lead and free-throws in the final minute gave them the separation needed for a 78-73 victory.

The entirety of tonight's game featured five lead changes and seven ties.

MSUM is back in action tomorrow night as they face Minot State at 5:30 p.m.
