MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead softball team dropped a pair of games to Minnesota State on Saturday, losing to the Mavericks 10-0 and 4-0.
MSUM is now 11-21 on the season and 4-10 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference while MSU improved to 28-12 and 9-7.

Taylor Roddie had hits for MSUM while sophomore outfielder
Madison Paige reached on a walk.
MSU hit three home runs, including two three-run blasts, to break the game open. A six-run third inning proved to be the difference.
Freshman pitcher Becky Berth took the loss for MSUM, going 2.1 innings and allowing 10 runs, eight earned. She struck out one and walked four. Gaber pitched 2.1 scoreless innings of relief, allowing just one hit.
MSUM's best scoring chance was in the fourth when Gaber singled with two out, Paige reached on a walk and Roddie singled. However a strikeout ended the threat.
In the second game, Gaber and Paige had hits for the Dragons. A four-run first inning by the Mavericks was the difference as the Dragons committed two errors which led to three unearned runs.
Sophomore pitcher
Tori White took the loss, giving up four runs (one earned) in seven innings. She struck out one and walked two.
MSUM hosts Concordia-St. Paul at noon on Sunday. Dragon seniors
Megan Asham and
Aunica Novacek will be honored prior to the doubleheader.
