SEATTLE, Wash. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team fell to Simon Fraser (B.C.) , 6-1 in its season opener Thursday in Seattle, Wash.
MSUM fell to 0-1 on the year while Simon Fraser is 1-0.

Carly Jo Gamrath had a goal off of an assist from senior
Kendall Schauer to account for the Dragons' goal.
"It was a tough loss to a good team, I'm happy with how they fought til the end," MSUM head coach
Christie Kopietz said. "There's lots to improve and learn. It was good to play a challenging opponent to see where we need to grow. I'm really happy with Carly Jo's goal and Kendall's assist."
Junior goalkeeper
Kennedy Rodgers had four saves for MSUM while freshman
Kayleigh Sedlacek had three.
MSUM will face Seattle Pacific at 3 p.m. on Saturday to wrap up the nonconference trip.
