MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team will host two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opponents on Friday and Sunday. MSUM will face Upper Iowa on Friday at 3 p.m. and Winona State on Sunday at 1 p.m. for Parents Day.
Upper Iowa defeated MSUM in last year's meeting by a score of 2-1 and Winona State also downed the Dragons by a score of 1-0.
The Dragons are coming off a 1-1 road trip that opened up with a 2-1 loss to the University of Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, S.D. MSUM responded with a 1-0 victory on Sunday against Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minn. MSUM is now 2-5 overall and 2-3 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play. Their two victories exceeds the total number of wins from last season where the team went 1-13-3 overall after being plagued by one-goal losses.
The Dragons are led this season by sophomore
Carly Jo Gamrath, who has two goals and two assists. Senior
Tomomi Nishihara has provided two goals on the year—both being game-winners. Senior
Jessica Dallman has one goal, one assists, and leads the team with 12 shots. Freshman
Jennifer Barnes has one goal and senior
Kendall Schauer has one assist.

Kayleigh Sedlacek has played in all seven games and has 47 saves with a 1.55 goals against average in 581 minutes of play.
The Dragons are led by head coach
Christie Kopietz who is in her thirst season at the helm.
About Upper Iowa
The Peacocks are 1-7 overall and 0-5 in NSIC play. UIU is coming off two losses on their home field where they were defeated by Bemidji State University 5-1 and the University of Minnesota Crookston 1-0. The Peacocks are averaging .57 goals per game compared to 2.29 from their opponents. They are led by Maida Alijagic who has one goal and one assist on the year. Katie Samuels, Haley Ramberg, and Hannah Dotter have each notched one goal this season, while Joline Hellstroem has one assist. Natalie Rudrud has been the starting goalkeeper in all seven games and has a 2.25 goals against average. Rudrud has 50 saves in 598 minutes of play. James Price is the head coach and is in his third season with the Peacocks.
About Winona State
The Warriors are 1-4-1 overall and 1-3-1 in NSIC play. WSU is coming off an 0-1-1 weekends where they played to a 1-1 ties with Minnesota Crookston and a 2-0 loss to Bemidji State University. The Warriors have five players with one goal on the year, while Courtney Wiencek leading the squad with 17 shots. Jordan Valkner has started all six games at goalkeeper for the Warriors and has a 1.45 goals against average. She has 27 saves in 560 minutes of play. The Warriors are led by head coach Matt Kellogg who is in his first year.
