DULUTH, Minn. – Facing its second nationally-ranked team in as many nights, the Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team fell to No. 4 Minnesota Duluth, 25-22, 25-21, 25-18 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Saturday in Duluth.
MSUM fell to 7-9 overall and 2-6 in the NSIC with the loss while UMD improved to 13-3 overall and 7-1 in the league.

Amber Bretwisch had 16 set assists to lead the offense while sophomore setter/hitter

MSUM hit .172 for the match while UMD hit .288.
The Dragons battled tough in the opening set and were within 19-18 after a Selensky service ace. UMD scored the next three points to build the lead to 22-18, and MSUM got within 24-22 after Doppler and Jenkins teamed up for a block but a kill from Kate Berg ended the set.
MSUM fell behind 16-10 in the second set but fought back to 22-20 after a block from Bakke, but got no closer and fell 25-21.
The Dragons fell behind early in the third set 10-4 and never got closer than five the rest of the way before falling 25-18.
