ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 double-overtime tie with Minnesota Duluth in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Sunday in Aberdeen, S.D.
MSUM is now 3-3-4 overall and 1-3-3 in the NSIC while UMD is 4-6-1 overall and 2-5-1 in the league.
Senior midfielder
Maren Soupir scored a goal at the 82:52 mark to tie the game at 1-1. She was assisted by
Kaylee Parsons. That was the final goal of the contest as the score remained deadlocked the rest of the way.
"It was an awesome, gritty performance," MSUM head coach
Christie Kopietz said. "I'm really pleased with our determination."
Sophomore goalkeeper
Kayleigh Sedlacek had seven saves for MSUM.
Sophomore forward
Anna Steadland had three shots, including one on goal, for MSUM while freshman forward
Mckenzie Ickert had two shots on goal.
MSUM will play at Wayne State for a 3 p.m. game on Oct. 18.
