MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team was swept by Minnesota State, Mankato, 25-18, 25-18, 25-21 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Saturday in Mankato, Minn.
MSUM is now 8-13 overall and 3-10 in the NSIC while Minnesota State improved to 14-7 overall and 7-5 in the league.
The Mavericks hit .396 for the match compared to .214 for the Dragons.

Teeya Doppler had eight kills for MSUM while sophomore outside hitter
Amanda Carlson had six. Sophomore setter
Katelyn Selensky and freshman setter
Amber Bretwisch each had 14 assists. Carlson led with six digs.
MSUM was within 22-18 in the first set after a kill from Doppler but the Mavericks scored the final three points to secure a 25-18 win.
An
Elise Bakke kill brought MSUM within 14-12 in the second set but MSU scored the next four points to build an 18-12 lead. The Dragons got as close as 20-17 after an attack error but got no closer and fell 25-18.
MSUM cut a five-point deficit to three in the third set thanks to back-to-back kills from Doppler and senior middle blocker
Kaylyn Jenkins, but MSU again finished strong in taking a 25-21 win.
Jenkins and sophomore hitter Sarah Petbrok had five kills each for MSUM.
The Dragons return home to host No. 3 ranked Northern State on Thursday.
