MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 contest to No. 21 Minnesota State Mankato in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Sunday in Moorhead, Minn.
MSUM is now 4-6-4 overall and 2-6-3 in the NSIC while Minnesota State improved to 13-2 overall and 10-2 in the league.
Facing their second straight nationally ranked opponent, MSUM battled tough in the first half and trailed 1-0 after the opening 45 minutes. But the Mavericks added two second-half goals, including one on a penalty kick, to push the lead to 3-0.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Kayleigh Sedlacek had 10 saves for the Dragons, who were outshot 26-9.
Junior midfielder
Jensen Odegaard had three shots, including one on goal for MSUM, while freshman forward
Mckenzie Ickert had two shots.
MSUM wraps up the three-game homestand on Friday vs. Bemidji State for a 3 p.m. game. It will also be Senior Day for the Dragons.
