MINOT, N.D. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team clinched a share of their third straight Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular-season title with a 78-61 win over Minot State in action Friday night in Minot.

MSUM (22-5, 18-3 NSIC) is the first NSIC school to 3-peat in women's basketball since the league expanded to 16 teams in 2012, and the first since Minnesota Duluth did so in the late 1990s. The Dragons are the first NSIC team to win four straight division titles.

With a win at UMary on Saturday MSUM will clinch the NSIC and NSIC North titles outright.

Minot State fell to 13-14 overall and 8-13 in the league.

Junior forward Megan Hintz picked up her NSIC-leading 14th double-double of the season with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Sophomore guard Kiley Borowicz had 16 points and four steals. Senior guard Jacky Volkert had 12 points and six assists while junior forward Madi Green had 12 points and six rebounds.

The Dragons wrap up the regular season at Mary on Saturday. Tipoff is 3:30 p.m. in Bismarck, N.D.
