GRAND FORKS, N.D. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team ran its winning streak to five with a 7-0 win over Minnesota Crookston in NSIC action Saturday in Grand Forks, N.D.
MSUM is now 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the league.
"FAFE (Footwork, attitude, Focus and Effort) was on point today," MSUM assistant coach
Ricquel Ramsbottom said. "There was good sportsmanship on both sides of the net."
MSUM lost only one game in doubles to earn the team point. Sophomore
Julia Geske and junior
Olivia Keelin won 6-0 at No. 1 for MSUM while freshmen
Rachel Nguyen and
Jalyn Kornblum also won 6-0 at No. 2 doubles. Freshmen
Stevi Parker and
Emma Andersen breezed to a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles for the Dragons.
Geske, junior
Alexis Konecne, Kornblum, junior
Emma Wood, Parker and Anderson all won singles matches in straight sets. The Dragons surrendered only five games in the six singles matches.
